| update update update! i'm a little overwhelmed when i look at my planner, i won't lie, but if i don't look at my planner I'm pretty good :) life is good, God is good, period. i am so so blessed & my friend randy reminds me of that everyday. he is always thanking God and expressing his praise to God for his faithfulness. life is hard and the narrow way is sometimes fought with struggle, but it's so worth it. ok, now for a less abstract update. i just finished my 3rd week of seminary & i'm feeling the weight of upcoming papers and exams. i have a book report due on Amazing Grace by Kathleen Norris wed & i've not started the book. i've heard it's good, so i'm excited, and it's not a text book, so it'll be a bit less strenuous hopefully. i started my new job this week & i really love it. i'm working for a homecare agency in johnson city. the 2 people i care for live at a brain injury assisted living home & they bring much joy to my life. their positive attitudes and laughter make me smile. well, i'm going on emmanuel's retreat this weekend, so it'll be nice to get to know some of my fellow students and faculty better. oh, & also i have some prayer requests. please pray that my support raising will go well. i'm at 52% of the total, so praise God for that, but i still have a way to go! also, if you could pray that my reading skills would improve, b/c it's hard for me to comprehend all that i'm reading and be ready to discuss it in class. alrighty, thanks & i love you all! me @ my bday night!
michael is speechless...
mel's wedding, isn't she gorgeous!?

| so seriously, i've been here in johnson city for a week now and it feels so strange! Last week I spent most of the week reading the finance manual for PBT, so I can know about all their money policies...yuck. I also scoured the countryside looking for jobs. i've applied at several places for instance, barnes & noble, best buy, texas roadhouse & today I'm going into cheddars. I would like to have a job that makes more than $7/hr but we'll see. then i finished off the week by going to mel's house on saturday with tera & we got to see the church where mel & mark will get married & then the small castle where their reception will be. it's freakin big. then on sunday I got to go to church at hopwood & see a bunch of old friends-amanda, ryan, emily, the rosses, hannah, james, grace, jill, and others. too fun! yesterday I did a job with JRich Photography & went to west virginia to do a pee wee league photo shoot. that wasn't too bad & I got paid! this week is going to go by fast i can feel it. next week I start at emmanuel...oh grad school here i come! the front of the house where the reception will be! this is in their backyard! oh young love :)
yay for friends!! | | |
| so you may be thinking..."cool cats, hmm...i bet emily is going to talk about her two adorable cats, but alas, no i'm not, even though i must say they are pretty stinkin' sweet! so the "cool cats" i'm referring to are the 2 kids I had the privilege to hang out with yesterday & today. Yesterday I went on a kid's event with my church & i got to be eli's (also known as elijah james sabins) mom for the day, b/c his mom couldn't go. so i learned from eli that the world's fastest car is the mclaren fm1 and it goes up to 300 mph! and oh by the way, he is a pro at drawing flames (the kind that would go on a car detailing paint job) :) eli is one of the coolest dudes ever!

the other person i got to hang out with was khelsea. she is an old friend, who is going into 7th grade mind you, and she is just fabulous! we had BW3's, be jealous, and had frozen custard. she is a very talented young aspiring photographer who loves Jesus and I just had way too much fun with her tonight! so those are my cool cats, and i am happy.
| woah...this is an update on my life, b/c my bro told me to so i'm in ohio working for my parents & i get to sing in th epraise band at church tomorrow!! i think that singing is one of my passions in life...probably music in general... today is saturday still for about 66 more minutes & today i went to bellefontaine to see my good friend katie england. i got to play corn hole with her family & lose a bunch. then mom & i wen ton to dublin and ate at whole foods-i recommend it! then we came home & i practiced this awesome song that my bro wrote for piano called "abroad". --it's coming along, but very slowly-- now i'm pondering life. today i have decided: don't try to change the world, but instead inspire individuals to strive for something better. i'm content, but have an "urge for going. but i never seem to go"..can anyone name the song where that comes from? :) | | |
| ok, so heather tagged me so here it is...
5 of my weird habits:
1. making up songs about random things.
for instance: today i made up a song about our new sidewalk on campus and it ended up being to the tune of camp anawanna...please tell me you all remember that nickelodeon show!
2. talking to myself all too often
3. burping extremely loud...just ask my roommates
4. writing everything down on sticky notes, resulting in my desk being covered in them!
i don't think it helps contain my insanity...it only provokes it
5. i seem to go on chocolate eating rampages every-so-often...
i ate a whole 2 layer box of chocolates in 3 days...
other issues in life at the moment...
well i learned today that culture is all in the mind and i've decided that i despise our self gratification culture with a passion. although i am just as guilty as the next person. thank God for grace!
also, another point to mention...submission is a good thing, actually a great thing and we should be thankful for rules and restrictions. i think we should try to be a little more submissive and promote our freedom of choice a little less. Submission spurs on humbleness...and that's an ideal characteristic...one that Jesus Christ practiced (phil 2:5-11)
oh and p.s. i was pooped on by a bird today...ha
